Culture and Technology Studies

Technology is everywhere, but what does that actually mean for how we live, think, and connect? With Culture and Technology Studies, you’ll explore big questions about ethics, power, accessibility, and the role technology plays in shaping our world. At the same time, you’ll be creating and experimenting through hands-on work in digital storytelling, programming, podcasting, and online publishing.

With this programme, you’re not boxed into one career. You’ll graduate with the creative and tech skills to explore different paths, whether that’s working as an educator, marketer, librarian, web designer, or digital publisher.

In Performance, Making and Design, you’ll get hands-on with creative technologies like 3D design, podcasting, and digital music.
If you’re drawn to stories, Storytelling and Public Humanities looks at how narratives come to life through podcasts, video games, electronic literature, and more.
Covers how technology influences power and how we can engage with communities.

You can pick from three specialisations:

“I was able to volunteer at a local elementary school and help guide the students when working on a STEM and robotics project. Working with young children so interested in technology is what sparked my passion for digital literacy and accessibility. Without this experience, I would not be continuing my studies the way that I am, nor would I feel so confident in doing so.”
