This two-year master's programme leverages the expertise of TSE’s Mathematics and Economics departments, zooming in on areas such as artificial intelligence, big data, and machine learning. In the first year, students find their footing in mathematics, statistics, and their applications to economics. The second year takes a research-oriented approach, ideal for those seeking to delve deeper into applied mathematics and statistics.

Whether in these firms or on campus, TSE students will be working with internationally renowned faculty and industry figures. "The students are taught by leading researchers in their fields," says Professor Eric Gautier, programme director.

“Among several courses, I am teaching High-Dimensional Models in the program. There, I focus on the simplest models but spend time so that students understand why you can handle models with more parameters than the sample size if the model is parsimonious of unknown form”. By learning the "why" behind the methods instead of relying on ready-made tools, Professor’s Gautier philosophy is to prepare students to adapt to new developments and stay effective in their future careers.”

After their master’s, most graduates go on to pursue doctoral studies in Applied mathematics and statistics at a different university. However, it is also possible to integrate into a company or an institution thanks to professionally oriented courses in Machine Learning/Statistics, AI, Economics, Risk Analysis and Finance.
