Five programmes preparing the next generation of economists for global impact

For those passionate about tackling global challenges, understanding policy decisions, or shaping the future of governments, businesses, and international organisations, the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) could be the ideal place to start.

Located in the French city of Toulouse, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, TSE offers a range of internationally recognised programmes that fuse economic theory with practical tools. Its unique approach combines data science, statistical methods, and mathematical modelling, preparing students to make an impact in both public and private sectors.

What further sets the world’s 19th-best economics division apart is how its experience-heavy approach equips students for real-world success. Graduates leave with the practical and analytical skills needed to influence policy, drive industry changes, and shape the future of global economies.

MBA graduate Kelvin Wong was drawn to the Graduate School’s curriculum, flexible delivery and affordability. Seeking to advance his career, whether in leadership or entrepreneurship, while not leaving behind his full-time job as a physical therapist then, the MBA stood out as a top choice.

As a healthcare professional, Wong could apply what he learned immediately – an approach that has fast-tracked him to senior leadership roles. After completing the MBA, he was was promoted from Multi-Site Clinic Director to Director of University Relations and Recruitment at ATI Physical Therapy.

"Regardless of your current field of work, this programme will provide you with the knowledge to lead and run a successful business. It has accelerated my career, opening opportunities outside of operations in healthcare."

Eric Wen,
Electronic and Electrical Engineering

The most interesting aspect of the course was learning about the new algorithms for improving a problem solution. The other excellent part is using a concept learnt in class to complete assignments. The best learning outcome for me is when I complete assignments individually and figure out the output. The lecturers are very supportive in clearing any queries. I would reach out to them after their sessions ended or during their office hours to get my questions answered. If a lecturer has a discussion board on the module’s canvas page, I would reach out to them over there for coursework-related queries.
