MA Dance: Participation, Communities, Activism

This online programme is for those looking to develop a socially engaged dance practice that addresses the urgencies of our times. It is uniquely designed so you may remain within the communities you want to work with while still interacting with an international cohort. This multi-perspective and multi-centred programme is delivered virtually, with two two-week in-person residencies in London.

Students will be part of a digital learning and collective creative space, with lectures, readings, discussions and classes run by an international team of experts.

By the end, you will have active living research practice to bridge you into or back into your professional work. “You will leave this course having deepened and developed your own practice,” adds Parkes. “You will have situated your work in relation to research and discourses from around the world, and crucially, you will have found the language to articulate your practice to other people.”

Two fully funded scholarships are available to applicants from the Global South.
