Connor Leszczuk was working at Stony Brook University Hospital when the MHA programme was first introduced at the university.

The programme's blend of business and management skills for healthcare complemented his technical background. Leszczuk loved classes like Health Law and Compliance, which covered the complexities of healthcare regulations and ethics. Contemporary Issues in Healthcare broadened his perspective on public health's impact on society. Healthcare Finance and Accounting, while challenging, gave key insights into financial sustainability and growth strategies.

He credits Dr. Andrew Flescher, Professor Ernest Conforti, and Dr. Norman H. Edelman for their passion, real-world examples, and mentorship, with Professor Conforti even facilitating shadowing opportunities. These connections, along with the programme's knowledge, proved instrumental in securing a job as an Assistant Administrator for nursing homes after graduation. Today, Leszczuk’s career has since evolved into a software engineering role.

“I took advantage of it the first year it was available as Stony Brook has a fantastic reputation and international recognition for healthcare-related fields,” he says.
