Leading the way in public health education

Stony Brook University, a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU), offers a premier public health education experience. It is ranked among the top 35 public universities in the nation (Forbes America's Top Colleges 2022) and the number one in New York by US News and World Report.

The university's Programme in Public Health (PPH) is taught by leading researchers and innovators who are actively shaping the field. The faculty, renowned for their expertise in clinical, social and behavioural sciences and the humanities, integrate their cutting-edge research into the curriculum. These are research areas critical to contemporary challenges, such as healthcare disparities, sleep health, cognitive ageing, environmental epidemiology, and resilience in the face of disability and illness.

It’s these intellectually stimulating curricula and innovative research endeavours that transform PPH students into the next generation of public health practitioners, scholars and leaders. As graduates, they have the knowledge, skills and experience to promote improvements in the health of all populations, including the elimination of health disparities across the life-course.
