Kamaru Oseni

Being a part of a big school with a relatively small community has its perks. Kamaru Oseni from Massachusetts gets to forge meaningful connections with a wide range of personalities and a wider still set of opinions.

Inspired by his own welcome — which was warm and supportive — he now does the same for newcomers. “I’ve had a lot of great mentors and they’ve forged the path for me to become a mentor; they were my inspiration,” says Oseni, who is a prefect in the Foster dorm, a Friend’s Youth Program mentor, and a Bridges mentor.

His favourite class is Humanities. He finds it more collaborative and “less practical” than the average class. “The students are the ones who move the discussion forward. It’s not about a bunch of quiet tests and silent exams; students vigorously, passionately, and, at times, loudly discuss topics in class,” he explains.
