Girl Scouts. Jazz ensembles. Badminton. Robotics. No matter what SCIS students set out to achieve, they bring fun and passion to their sense of purpose while addressing an authentic community need. Both Service Learning (SL) and Service as Action (SAA) are key components of the IB programme that help foster belonging, global engagement, and intercultural understanding.
Whether it’s organising photography exhibitions to raise awareness about a social cause or using their multilingual skills to provide translation services to local groups, Dragons are supported by a dedicated faculty who help them understand the root cause behind an issue. Through SAA clubs, they develop the tools needed to build respectful communication skills within a multicultural context and make connections between their actions and real-life implications in the broader global community.
