The Master of Science (Materials Science and Engineering)
If you want to work in roles that develop technology — from the behaviour of materials at the nanoscale to their performance within larger systems — the MSc in Materials Science and Engineering was designed for you.
The programme moves across composition, structure, and fabrication, with emphasis on how these variables translate into function. It is offered as a general track, alongside a specialisation in Artificial Intelligence for Functional Materials. On this route, you will work across machine learning, atomistic modelling, and materials informatics, applying data-driven methods to predict material behaviour, optimise structures, and accelerate discovery.

If you are seeking experimental depth, a dedicated project course offers supervised research within faculty labs, supported by facilities ideal for MSc candidates. Upon graduating, you will qualify for roles across semiconductors, energy systems, and advanced manufacturing.
