Moving to a different country can be daunting —especially in 2020, in the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic. Travelling to New England from Bangladesh, Aurora ‘23 had to adjust to new schedules, new ways of learning, and to residential life within a new, diverse community.
“In the beginning, it was terrifying, because I didn’t know what to do,” she recalls. “But lots of people along the way supported me — my advisor, roommate, my ‘Big.’ Miss Hall’s quickly felt like a home away from home, even though I was halfway around the world.”
Three years later, Aurora is a confident scholar who holds an impressive number of leadership roles: School Secretary, Admissions Ambassador co-Head, and Proctor. She runs cross-country and is an active member of the Theatre Ensemble. Looking ahead, she hopes to study Law and, with the transformative experience of Miss Hall’s, is on a path to success.
