“So I think that it was not a challenge because I knew what I wanted from day one,” says Rizal Redzuan, Hills alumni. The Malaysian student was drawn to the balance between athleticism, namely golf, and academics. He attended Hills between 2009 and 2011. Despite being a year younger than his classmates, he felt right at home.

Accommodations were made to allow Redzuan to pray when necessary, and even dietary requirements were easily met. “To me, it was really the small things that the teachers do at Hills,” he says. “I think in my whole year, there were only 40 out of us, and the teachers managed to cater to different needs of students. That's something that I feel is the connection at Hills and the impact of the teachers.” He went on to attend Bond University.

Today Redzuan is the Internal Communications Lead at Capital A, previously known as AirAsia. The cultural diversity at Hills was something that taught him great lessons which apply to his current job. “Things that I experienced at Hills have helped me easily transition into the workforce where I'm interacting with a similar crowd from different nationalities,” he says. “I had a lot of friends from Thailand and Korea at Hills, so this has helped me understand how those people react and interact and translate it into my professional experience.”
