Bryan Chiu

Class of 2025

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Chiu joined CDNIS in Grade 8, drawn by its commitment to critical thinking, cultural diversity, and global perspectives. From the very start, he was inspired by a vibrant community – a “kaleidoscope of shining individuals” - growing together and lifting one another.

“CDNIS promotes education focused on inquiry, not memorisation,” he says. “Beyond academics, it was a safe and welcoming community where every voice was heard, and differences were celebrated.”

Chiu graduated as the valedictorian of the Class of 2025, having distinguished himself as a leader and innovator. He spearheaded the 2025 SDG Summit and led school teams in high-level competitions across robotics, blockchain, and data science. His interdisciplinary mindset was evident in his mathematics extended essay, where he applied mathematical modelling to explore the virality of the 2014 ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Today, Chiu is pursuing a dual degree in economics and artificial intelligence through the Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania.

“One of the most important values CDNIS instilled in me is the mindset that there are always opportunities around me. I just have to be actively looking for them,” says Chiu. “I believe that an open mind and proactive attitude are the best way to seize these opportunities.
