Mohammad Al-Abbadi
Mohammad has more than 10 years of experience as an international attorney and legal researcher. He’s the founder and CEO of Kaebox, a startup using blockchain technology and smart contracts to transform the shipping and logistics industry, and holds not just one, but two degrees from Wake Forest Law: an LLM and a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD).
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to shape your legal skills, and they always make you feel at home,” says Mohammad about the LLM. “The diversity of the international programme is an exceptional experience to connect with great professionals from different countries and see the various legal systems from different perspectives.”
Coming from a civil law jurisdiction, the LLM and SJD were key in helping Mohammad understand the common law system.

“My study focused on international economic and investment law, which was the first specialisation of its kind at Wake Forest,” he says. “It gave me a clear understanding of the business from a different perspective.”
