A skilled lawyer with over 10 years of experience in workers’ compensation and labour law, Cardoza is an LLM student who has worked in both defense and plaintiff roles in the public and private sectors. He has vast experience with document translations, a benefit of his fluency in Spanish and English.
In his first semester at Wake Forest, Cardoza took three different courses: Contracts, Evidence, and Introduction to American Law. “Our professor in ‘Intro to American Law’ actually arranged for us to participate in a mock trial in front of a criminal law judge,” he says. “Some of my colleagues played the part of the public defender, and I did the same for the prosecution with my good friend Aime from DR Congo.”
In the current semester, Cardoza is taking Privacy Law — a field that lies at the forefront of a tech-driven world.

“I am having a blast with it,” he says. “I am working on my seminar paper for this class. Investigations are not known to be fun, but the professor gave me enough leeway that I’m actually enjoying myself.”
