Kaushek Rahul Ilancheran, a chemical and electrochemical engineering graduate from India, developed a passion for energy storage during his undergraduate degree, where he was exposed to extensive battery research. While looking to further his studies, he sought a professor who shared his enthusiasm for electrochemistry.

Ilancheran chose USC for its unique blend of academic excellence and industrial exposure. He now contributes to his lab's research on lithium-sulfur batteries, a promising alternative to lithium-ion batteries.

"That’s when I found Dr. Golareh Jalilvand. I found her research expertise to be more promising,” he says.
