Leveraging UoP's research strength within its newly formed Plymouth Institute of Health and Care Research, students in the MSc Biomedical Science programme can focus on one of three specialist areas: Cancer Biology, Infection & Immunity, and Clinical Neuroscience. Each specialised pathway consists of three core modules and two pathway-specific modules.
Clinical Neuroscience is ideal for those keen on understanding the essentials of neurobiology with a focus on the cause and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Cancer Biology examines the fundamentals of various cancers and real-world diagnostics for students that want to build a career in advanced cellular science. The Infection and Immunity pathway explores disease pathogenesis, antibiotic resistance, and immune system response, among others.
