"The University of Otago's School of Biomedical Sciences caught my attention due to its excellent reputation in research and advanced laboratory facilities. The school's strong emphasis on experimental research and its track record in neurological studies perfectly align with my research interests.
Additionally, the University of Otago’s multicultural environment and the beautiful city of Dunedin appealed to me as an international student. The supportive academic community and opportunities for collaboration with leading researchers in biomedical sciences made Otago an ideal choice for furthering my academic journey. My decision to pursue both MSc and PhD degrees at Otago was shaped by two key factors. While I was eager to investigate the mechanisms of this condition through doctoral research, I recognised that having supportive and effective supervision is crucial for PhD success. Having already established a strong working relationship with my supervisors, I made the strategic decision to continue my academic journey at Otago."
