Soar with an International MBA

In the heart of “the Port City” of Wilmington, North Carolina, over 2,000 undergraduate and 500 graduate students are at the Cameron School of Business (CSB) to get a headstart in their professional lives. Besides being accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the school is part of the vibrant fabric of a larger community: the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW).

UNCW made the Princeton Review’s 2023 Best Southeastern Schools list and with good reason: it is fully committed to providing students with a robust education. Thanks to award-winning — Chancellor's Teaching Excellence Award and a UNCW Distinguished Teaching Fellow Award — faculty members like Dr. Tammy Hunt, graduate students here have a whopping 93% placement success rate upon completion of their programmes.

Make an impact with an International MBA degree

If there is one thing that UNCW has mastered since its inception in 1947, it is how to globalise education. Students like Claire Appling are able to prosper in challenging roles after graduating from CSB because of the university's unique course offerings. Now a Business Product Owner, Appling was part of the ambitious International Master of Business Administration (IMBA) programme, where the internationalisation of business education is an integral aspect.

As the IMBA is part of the International Business School Alliance’s (IBSA) Dual Master’s Degree programme, International MBA students get to spend a year and a half studying in two different countries. Throughout the course of their studies, they will develop a sound knowledge of the fundamentals of business and receive intensive training in their specialisation of choice. The best part? They graduate with two master’s degrees instead of one.

Every student who enrolls can flourish in their specialisation of choice. One of the plus points of the school is that internationalisation doesn't stop within the four walls of the campus. There are other chances for both local and international students to experience, learn from, and appreciate other cultures. For a period of six to eight weeks, students can gain credits, travel the world, and get work experience through the Remote Global Internship programme.

Excel in more ways than one at the Cameron School of Business

There is a place for everyone at CSB. With 12 undergraduate concentrations (Accountancy, Business Analytics, Economics, Entrepreneurship and Business Development, Finance, and more) and seven graduate programmes;

Hear from the International MBA alumni

Mostafa Namira, Class 19'
“I think the MBA programme was truly beneficial to me from two perspectives: business and personal investments. Upon graduating I returned to Germany and built my own event management company within two years. We’re working on a global scale and have happy clients worldwide including renowned companies such as Facebook and Workday."
Domenic Winfrey, Class of 20'
“The option to pursue two master’s degrees in less time than a normal MBA and at a low cost was a no-brainer for me. The programme allowed me to explore new beautiful cities in Wilmington and Valencia, make lifelong friends and colleagues, and help me grow personally and professionally.”
Rachel Stringer, Class of 20'
“The IMBA was a great opportunity to continue my education after my bachelor’s degree and allowed me to expand my knowledge in the HR field. During our core classes at UNCW, our cohort built a strong sense of community which created a foundation of support for our spring semester in our specialty programs."
Andrew Sriraman, Class of 18'
“The IMBA equipped me with the tools to be an asset to the companies I have worked for since I graduated. The exposure to different cultures is what really sets this programme apart. While receiving a top-tier education, I learned how to be effective when conducting business with people outside of the US. I’m very thankful for the skills and knowledge this programme has taught me.”
Anna Ellison, Class of 16'
“Working with students and other colleagues across UNCW and the University of Hertfordshire gave me so much exposure to global business and taught me how to effectively work across cultures. Today, I am the Director of Human Resources for an international tech firm in Raleigh, NC and oversee both US and international HR teams."
Benjamin Reisewitz, Class of 19'
"The IMBA brings together in-depth knowledge and highly motivated students from all over the world. Working together on assignments allows students to get a different perspective in solving problems due to our diverse backgrounds. The IMBA and semester at the UNCW not only deepened and strengthened my knowledge in international finance and investments."
Mortada Stitou, Class of 18'
“The IMBA was an amazing experience where I was able to both travel and further my education. The two master’s degrees helped me land my dream job and gave me a strong competitive advantage over other applicants.”
