Let your sports performance career take off with a specialisation in strength and conditioning, video analysis, or nutrition. This course develops insightful, competent, critical, and reflective practitioners with the experience and insight to optimise the performance of any sportsperson. Your study of physiology, psychology, and biomechanics will inform your knowledge of sports performance for speed, endurance, team, and strength sports. All this at your own pace too — full-time over a year, or part-time over two years.

This master’s programme was recognised as Postgraduate Course of the Year in the Health Sciences category at the 2020 Gradireland Higher Education Awards, with the judges applauding how it bridges the gap between researchers and practitioners. Graduates gain accreditations such as the International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport (ISPAS) Video Analysis accreditation, the International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry (ISAK) accreditation, and the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Award through the programme.

In the words of external examiner Professor Gareth Irwin, “The level of academic work and the student progression is first class. The students are highly complimentary about the level of support and understanding displayed by members of staff, which is impressive. Staff go out of their way to ensure their academics and welfare are at the fore.”
