The COVID-19 pandemic has made this clear: we need leaders who know how to prevent and control infections to effectively manage public health threats. This MSc responds to the need for further education with interprofessional, interdisciplinary, and collaborative learning opportunities.

Throughout the nine levels of this programme, you will develop ideas and skills to plan and implement the right measures. You’ll also dive deep into infection prevention and control practice, and explore its relationship with governance, evidence, and risk. You’ll review best practices in innovation and communication. Most importantly, you will grow personally and professionally so that when the time comes, you will step up to your role with responsibility and knowledge.

“The programme is designed to enable healthcare professionals to become leaders and champions in infection prevention and control practice — a vision that is advocated both nationally and internationally. Students leave the programme with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate a dynamic and evolving complex healthcare environment,” says Dr. Liz Kingston, Senior Lecturer for Nursing and Midwifery. The university welcomes you to tailor your own experience. Follow it full-time or part-time, on-campus and online — it is flexible, interactive, and blended. If public health restrictions are lifted, it is likely there will be face-to-face contact time in the 2021-22 academic year.
