Tosin Idowu-Kunlere honed her skills at Nigeria’s largest retail bank, where she excelled in optimizing performance, enhancing customer engagement, and driving business growth. However, despite her expertise, she felt limited in her ability to make an impact.

“I realised I needed to further expand my expertise, particularly in business analysis, predictive modelling, and strategic decision-making. This drive motivated me to pursue graduate studies,” Idowu-Kunlere says.

That would steer her toward the University of Delaware’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) and MS Business Analytics and Information Management programmes – an easy decision, with the curriculum’s blend of business strategy and data analytics.

“I look forward to leveraging everything I have learned as I continue to bridge the gap between data and strategy, turning insights into action to drive impactful business decisions,” she says.

Learning is never a lonely process at UD. Enrolling enabled Idowu-Kunlere to work with faculty members who are experts in their fields, delivering courses like “Visual Analytics” and “Corporate Strategy” that have refined her technical and decision-making skills in a changing world.

She worked with other students and alumni to find solutions to complex business challenges, and even tackled real-world cases in group projects through the Ammon Case Competition — both of which encouraged her to innovate. She supported Dr. Amanda Bullough, Professor of Management, as a graduate assistant and covered the business cases of female African leaders.

Career support was rampant too. The Lerner Career Services, the Executive Mentoring Programme, and the Job Shadow Programme played a key role in defining the next steps of Idowu-Kunlere’s professional journey.
