Mansi Gupta’s parents encouraged her with a singular advice: To aim high. And that, she did — Gupta became the first member of her family to study abroad.

“I chose UD Lerner because of its unique mix of on-campus opportunities, financial support, and vibrant community,” she says. “A current student assured me that graduate assistantship (GA) positions, part-time jobs, and networking events made Lerner a place where students could truly grow.”

That decision changed her life.

“Lerner provided me with a career, a community, and a lifelong support system,” Gupta says. “The guidance from faculty, career services, and alumni shaped my journey, and I’m incredibly proud to be a Lerner Blue Hen.”

Soon after arrival, Gupta started working part-time at the Lerner Dean’s Office, and developed a Sedona system where faculty members tracked their accomplishments. Through support from the office, she received an opportunity that made her weep in happy tears — a GA that offered her a 50% tuition waiver and health subsidy.

The journey only goes upwards from there. Through the Graduate Internship programme, Gupta received three job offers and interned at JPMorgan Chase for one year. She became the President of the Business Analytics and Information Management Graduate Student Association, connecting students to alumni and industry leaders.

“One of my most memorable experiences was leading Phillies Sports Analytics Night,” she says. The event fostered a global environment, with students from Africa, Pakistan, China, and more coming together to explore Python, Structured Query Language (SQL), and real-world analytics applications in sports.
