Delivered in partnership with CEMS — a global alliance of leading business schools and corporate partners — the MIM combines international exposure with a distinctly regional edge. Courses such as Global Strategy and Business Research Methods are complemented by modules like Doing Business in Africa.

It’s a combination that lets you understand the business theories of a region where markets are expanding rapidly but unevenly – as well as see it in action.

The programme mixes lectures and seminars with internships and consulting projects, which often include multinational and local partners navigating the continent’s complexities firsthand. It’s a great way to gain exposure to how global businesses work, plus the confidence to lead across cultures.

“On the academic side, UCT provided deep insight into business within a highly complex and context-driven market environment. The discussions were often grounded in real societal dynamics, which strengthened my analytical thinking and forced me to engage with business strategy beyond theoretical models.

The faculty’s international backgrounds and innovative, case-driven teaching approaches further elevated the academic rigour and challenged us to think critically and independently. At the same time, the CEMS framework added an international benchmark of excellence. Being part of a global cohort, collaborating across cultures, and engaging with multinational corporate partners exposed me to diverse management styles and global best practices.”
