As it relates to areas such as energy infrastructure, environmental/water resources engineering, geotechnical engineering, land development engineering, structures, and transportation, civil engineering has some of the fastest-growing job opportunities in the engineering sector.
At UNC Charlotte, this department provides both discipline-specific and multidisciplinary graduate-level education.
In the MSCE or MSE programme, students can choose from five concentrations: environmental and water resources engineering; geo-environmental engineering; geotechnical engineering; structural engineering; and transportation engineering. If you have stellar academics to back you up, high school seniors and UNC Charlotte undergraduate freshmen may apply for the Accelerated Master’s Programme to begin work toward undergraduate and graduate degrees in their freshman year.
The PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering has the same specialisation options as the master’s programme. Students can benefit from the department’s ongoing collaborative research and student exchange programmes with several international institutions, which can enhance their experience. The PhD programme includes a minimum of 18 credit hours of dissertation.
