At the Department of Animal and Dairy Science, CAES experts are working towards a better understanding of critical issues in livestock, animal science, and biotechnology. Students earning their Master of Science in Animal and Dairy Science at CAES will enjoy learning from a team of seasoned researchers at the Dairy Teaching Farm and UGA Livestock Instructional Arena which span nearly 1,000-acres and house several hundred bovines, sheep, pigs and horses.

From food animal production and equine/companion animal management to animal and medicinal biotechnology and more, students in the Department of Animal and Dairy Science learn to address issues such as cost of production, profitability, human and animal health, environmental stewardship, bioethics and animal wellbeing. The Master of Science in Animal and Dairy Science at CAES is a great pathway for students hoping to gain experience in animal breeding and genetics, applied research in horses, beef cattle nutrition, dairy cattle research, meats and muscle biology, regenerative medicine and swine nutrition and the environment.
