Having spent her undergraduate years at UCL Chemistry Department, Anita Yan knew the impact of its education firsthand.
"The courses are well-organised, and I've learned so much," Yan says. "I've grown from an A Level student to an expert in the lab. That’s why I chose to explore the master's programmes at UCL, and Chemical Sustainability aligns well with my interests."
Yan’s favourite aspect of the course is the research programme. She's been working on upcycling plastic into a catalyst for generating biofuel precursors, a project she's passionate about. With the guidance of her supervisor, she’s had all the resources to succeed, motivating her to pursue a PhD.
To Yan, both her UCL degrees were a worthwhile investment. With brand-new labs at UCL East and services like therapy sessions and career consulting, Yan stays focused and on track to realise her goals.
"This programme, along with my BSc at UCL, has built a strong foundation for me and earned me a PhD position in London," she says.
