Tianjin International School (TIS) turns 40 this year -- yet its drive to shape youths and encourage them to learn, love, and lead shines just as bright as it was in 1986, when it was founded.
Whether it’s taking a stand in Model United Nations, going on a service trip to places like Yunnan, Chang Bai Shan, and Chiang Rai, or competing in a volleyball tournament — each experience transforms the way TIS students approach learning. Tied with their skills and education, students are encouraged to explore how they can make an impact even before university. Hence why TIS Eagles study by the book, immerse themselves in activities that ignite passion, from robotics to the student council and the Fine Arts Festival, and prepare to make life-changing differences for the common good.

To learn, love, and lead — that’s central to TIS’s philosophy as a LifePlus International School. From the campus to the people, every part of TIS is built to ensure students develop holistically as globally minded citizens. Its purpose-built campus houses the Early Childhood Center (ECC), Elementary, and Secondary divisions across three floors, with over 75 modern classrooms, two libraries, a STEM wing, and more. Last year alone, the school was home to 286 students from 18 countries. Faculty members are mainly from the US, but you’ll also find those from China, Brazil, New Zealand, Korea, and more.
World-class learning, accredited teaching

There’s never a day that goes by where classrooms feel dull. Whether it’s the ECC students “learning through play” in safe, yet stimulating spaces, or the Secondary learners fostering their leadership skills, the school tailors the academic experience to support their growth and development at every stage.
As TIS adopts the American curriculum, these classes are taught in English. The school itself is Cognia-accredited, the global recognition a testament to TIS’s high standards of delivery, with teachers constantly evolving their practice to ensure students are learning from the best.
