I learned a lot of practical public health skills at Jefferson that prepared me for my current role. My classes such as GIS Mapping, Health Research Methods, Statistics, and Program Planning and Evaluation gave me a real-world look into research practices and procedures. I think the best part of my time at Jefferson was the connections I made with faculty and my classmates.
Beyond teaching me core public health competencies, the Jefferson faculty provided practical advice and support as I was transitioning from school into professional roles. They really helped me learn about new opportunities and discern which public health field I wanted to pursue after graduation.
Hearing about the experiences of my classmates always helped me analyze issues from different perspectives — an invaluable resource. I’m still close with several of my classmates nearly seven years later!
