Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation are transforming how organizations operate and make decisions. Intuition has given way to insights powered by data, and companies across industries are seeking professionals who can turn complex information into clear strategy. With data and AI roles growing rapidly — by 41% each year globally — and strong demand projected in finance, technology, healthcare, and consulting, the need for skilled business analysts has never been greater. Job Bank Canada projects a 14% increase in the business analyst role through 2030.
The UBC Sauder School of Business at The University of British Columbia is helping meet this demand through its Master of Business Analytics (MBAN) programme, designed for the data-driven economy of today and tomorrow.

Student testimonials
The exceptional faculty at Notre Dame are deeply committed to their research and possess the expertise to mentor students into becoming accomplished researchers. Their dedication and guidance are invaluable assets in my academic journey.
Himanshu Sharma,
PhD in Electrical Engineering

The classes I took were closely related to real-world problems. I was able to apply my knowledge directly to real-life situations. I feel prepared to conduct research independently, and I am encouraged to do so. Over the past year, I have collaborated with people from different departments and areas, which has complemented my research and broadened my worldview.
Francisca Schiaffino Pereira,
PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences

Experiential learning makes up a core section of the programme, with three options to pursue: work in a real company in an analytics-focused role, consult on an industry project, or conduct independent research. In the past, students have worked with brands like SAP, Boeing, and Electronic Arts. Complementing these immersions are employer events, networking opportunities, industry speakers, mock interview services, and global industry case competitions for organisations like Google and the Vancouver International Airport.
