Since my toddling years, I have been deeply fascinated by Physics, and becoming a researcher has always been my dream. Applying to PolyU’s Engineering Physics programme was the first step towards realising this dream.
The programme’s well‑structured curriculum strengthened both my theoretical foundation and practical skills, while courses across semesters were seamlessly connected. Working as a student assistant under one of my professors further enriched my technical knowledge and research experience. Learning at AP is highly application‑oriented, and our professors consistently relate concepts to real‑world implications. It helped me gain valuable leadership skills by teaching me to take the initiative and handle everything with responsibility. On top of that, I benefitted from interacting with the non-local community in Hong Kong, most of whom turned out to be fairly helpful. The department was also relentlessly supportive in ensuring I get access to international exchange programmes and research internships.
These opportunities paved the way for me to secure the renowned Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Programme — awarded to just 3 to 5% of applicants globally — highlighting the world‑class preparation I received at PolyU.
