This programme covers the chemical processes and biochemical functions of living organisms. You’ll understand how cells work at the sub-cellular and molecular levels in living organisms, from bacteria to plants, animals, and humans. Much of your learning will take place at the Medical School’s cutting-edge research facilities, which include bioanalytical equipment such as high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, DNA and protein analytical equipment, and computer-based image analysers for molecular or cellular studies.
