MSc Cyber Security
Completing this MSc will boost careers in computer science. Graduates who have landed roles in giant names in the industry like Motorola Solutions, VSI-thinking, BMJ Publishing Group, and more. As part of this MSc, students get to work in the Computational Foundry, a 32.5 million pounds research facility that is the heart of this course. The Foundry is home to equipment including a Vision and Biometric Lab, a Maker Lab, a Theory Lab, a Cyber Security/Networking Lab, a User Lab, and a Visualisation Suite.
At the Department of Computer Science, ranked top 198 in the world, you get to learn from some of the best minds in the field. These passionate educators are working towards the United Nations Sustainable Goals focusing on crypto currencies, data security, cyberterrorism and Future interaction technologies.
MSc Advanced Computer Science
This MSc is ideal for those seeking to advance into roles such as broadcast engineer, IT consultant, multimedia programmer or any other professional related to electronics, then this MSc is perfect for you. Home to globally renowned research in power electronics, telecommunications, nanotechnology, and biometrics, this is where theoretical and practical skills will be tested and enhanced using industry-standard equipment such as a scanning tunnelling microscope for atomic scale probing and the hp4124 parameter analyser for power devices.
Modules cover various subjects including power semiconductor devices, advanced power systems, optical fibre communications, and nanoscale structures and devices. However, there is an opportunity to do an additional year for an industry placement where students work on-site in a company or focus on a project with one or several industrial partners. This not only improves technical skills in a professional setting but also serves as a headstart to roles like network engineer, systems analyst, multimedia programmer, and more.
MSc Electronic and Electrical Engineering
Ranked among the top 100 engineering programmes in the world, this MSc covers mechanical engineering tools, problem-solving techniques, formulation of experimental data, and many other real-world applications. These equip students with the ability to make informed judgements about different mechanical engineering problems.
There is 24-hour access to the university's library, advanced laboratories, and dedicated postgraduate work rooms for students to work in. The programme also takes learning beyond campus, via an industry placement or project with some of the leading mechanical engineering companies here. Since the programme has close ties with Tata Steel and Ford and has worked with AstraZeneca, British Aerospace, QinretiQ, GKN, Rolls-Royce, SKF, Freeport-McMoRan, ONESTEEL, and Barrick Gold Corporation, students have plenty of choices and assistance for their industry placement or project.

Hear from the students
My favourite thing about my programme is that I was taught by experts in their fields. A variety of teaching methods such as lectures, lab sessions, and independent study create an optimum learning environment for me. I like the modules Swansea University set for the course. Moreover, there are modules related to the power system, power electronics, semiconductor and nanotechnology, which means students could find out which path is their favourite.

Electronic and Electrical Engineering
The most interesting aspect of the course was learning about the new algorithms for improving a problem solution. The other excellent part is using a concept learnt in class to complete assignments. The best learning outcome for me is when I complete assignments individually and figure out the output. The lecturers are very supportive in clearing any queries. I would reach out to them after their sessions ended or during their office hours to get my questions answered. If a lecturer has a discussion board on the module’s canvas page, I would reach out to them over there for coursework-related queries.
