Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD)

With the expanding nature of legal practice, there is a need for academics and researchers who are equipped to continuously support and drive the conversation around law. Many legal experts who go down this route do so through Suffolk Law’s Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) program.

Equivalent to a PhD in other fields, students pursuing this program are challenged to expand their thinking and push boundaries in the study of law. They’re supported by experienced practitioners and real-world leaders in the field, and are required to complete a dissertation at the end of their program that has the potential to impact the constantly developing body of legal literature.
