Aly Lloyd always dreamed of a career in toys but knew she needed a plan to make it a reality. SU provided the best environment: welcoming, challenging, and supportive. Faculty and staff were always available for advice and the campus community offered invaluable perspectives. Internship opportunities gave her real-world experience and a crucial edge against competitors.

After graduating with a communication degree, Lloyd landed a job at Goliath Games and then at Brilliant PR and Marketing. Not long after, a Mattel recruiter contacted her about the role of a lifetime — Public Relations on the Barbie team. Lloyd seized the opportunity, relocating to California to begin the career she'd always wanted.

“I am in love with the stories I help tell and unlock the limitless potential in every girl,” she says. “I went to SU knowing I wanted to land somewhere within the communications field and left with a career goal I have now achieved.” 

“I cannot praise the Communication Department at SU highly enough,” Lloyd says. “All my professors were invested in my success and designed courses that prepared me for my career.”
