Abdulmajed Aljabhan

RWU is among the elite Architecture programs in the country to bring top firms into the classroom to teach studios through its Teaching Firm in Residence programme. The programme brings top educator practitioners from across the region, the country, and abroad to the SAAHP for semester-long teaching appointments.

Two to three lead participants from a noted firm teach in the graduate architectural design studios. They are also engaged for studio lectures, design studio review critiques at RWU and at the firm, and visits to the firm and to sites. Past residencies include Schwartz Silver Architects (Boston, MA), CBT (Boston and Abu Dhabi), and Tangram Architects (Amsterdam).

For Aljabhan, this programme was the defining feature of his RWU education -- and a key reason for his career growth since. “I found that the Teaching Firm in Residence at SAAHP is an interesting and unique feature that was going to enrich my experience and allow me to visit and meet practitioners from top architectural firms,” says Aljabhan, who is currently working for a company called Arabian Centres, the largest owner and developer of shopping centres in Saudi Arabia, as a Senior Manager for the Central Region.

“My education is by far the best decision and investment I’ve made that helped me grow in my career.”
