Abdullah Soufan, a refugee scholarship recipient from Damascus, describes his summer internships as “very smart,” contributing to his industry knowledge and experience. “The internship widened my mind and made me aware of all the other aspects of the industry which they don’t teach in school, from marketing and reaching out to clients to contract negotiations, public bids, and management skills.”

SAAHP offers guaranteed paid internships, made possible by its strong network of industry connections. The Career Investment Programme facilitates this, providing financing for graduate student assistantships on campus and professional internships off-campus with firms, nonprofits, and government.

For Soufan, his summer internships led to a full-time job as an associate at David Sisson Architecture, a full-service firm based in East Providence, Rhode Island. “The Career Investment Programme helped me and many others find a full-time job after graduation thanks to the summer internship,” he says.
