Empowering education, exceptional achievements
Empowering education, exceptional achievements
What distinguishes QE is its diverse teaching approach, which fuses various styles and techniques, acknowledging that every student has a unique learning style. By making learning enjoyable and inspiring students to think bigger, QE not only maximises classroom success but also prepares students to do well beyond it.
Flexible curriculum, dynamic teaching, excellent facilities, and professional staff — these are the key factors that can empower students to carve a life of success.
At Queen Ethelburga's Collegiate, you’ll find exactly that. QE has proven to be an educational establishment worthy of the QEGUK Quality Assurance Validation — an award bestowed on schools committed to the highest performance standards in international student provision. It is the first school in the UK to have achieved this.

This excellence goes hand in hand with a focus on student well-being at QE. Creating a culture of respect, equity, and collective responsibility is a top priority for teachers and staff here. The school provides comprehensive support, including initiatives for mental health, stress management, and emotion regulation. A dedicated pastoral team is available 24/7 in a specialised welfare area, and a Peer Mentor Scheme offers relatable support for younger students.
Beyond academics, QE students can choose from over 100 extracurricular activities that include Game Design, Home Economics, Motorsports, Woodland Sessions, and more traditional pursuits like Art, Dance, Design Technology, and Drama. Those who want to add more substance to their university applications and further education can join academically focused clubs in Medicine and Veterinary, Journalism, Advanced Mathematics, Critical Thinking, Law, Enterprise, History, Politics, Psychology, and Philosophy.
Over in the fields and in their community, QE students test what they're made of and who they can be. Many QE students compete nationally across a broad spectrum of sports. And when they’re not winning medals, they can be found volunteering and contributing to environmental initiatives. Wherever they go, they display their responsibility, empathy, collaboration and leadership skills — you cannot help but be impressed by a QE student.
From children to well-rounded graduates with a thirst for adventure and discovery
But Lisa's proactivity doesn't stop there. She seized several opportunities while completing her degree and earning a Level 6 Diploma in Applied Finance. These include a spring internship at the Bank of America, leading the Cambridge Student Investor Fund's Consumer Retail Sector, and serving as the EMEA Regional Representative for the UK at AmplifyMe.
Not content with excelling in the classroom, she put on multiple hats as prefect, peer mentor, and school ambassador, leaving an indelible mark on her school community. Her achievements included reaching LAMDA Grade 7 and achieving a Gold Duke of Edinburgh award.
Beyond the school, Lisa's thirst for knowledge led to online courses and freelance writing for various publications. Upon graduating, she continued her quest for excellence at the University of Cambridge, where she's currently in her third year, embarking on a thrilling year abroad in Munich and Paris. There, she juggles internships as a Legal Administrative Assistant and various work in Investor Relations.
Lisa Levytska's QE journey began with a stellar performance in her A Levels in Economics, Russian, French, and German.
