The Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) in Contemporary Dance aims to prepare dance artists to undertake professional training at degree level. It introduces students to industry-relevant modes of working, including Ballet and Contemporary techniques, Improvisation, Choreography, Contextual studies, Performance and Dance repertoire.

This programme is designed for those who need more experience in one or more key areas before progressing to further training. A total of 98% of students who completed this equivalent programme in 2017 gained places on bachelor programmes either at NSCD, another conservatoire, or another university.
