Dr. Shen credits his time as a graduate student at NC State University for shaping his research interests and career path. "The rigorous coursework and immersive learning experiences broadened my research perspective. It was an environment that prompted me to consider not just what, but why and how — ultimately refining my critical thinking and ability to convey complex ideas with clarity," he shares.

Dr. Shen’s PhD research, where he investigated how functional amino acids could enhance the health of food animals, laid the groundwork for his leadership at APC.

“Firstly, it provided me with a deep understanding of fundamental immunology and the intricate interaction between nutrients and the immune system. Additionally, the project afforded me the opportunity to collaborate closely with industry partners, honing my skills in project coordination and teamwork,” he says.
