I chose Leeds Conservatoire for its well-structured curriculum, which includes one-to-one tuition, ensemble coaching with professionals, and collaborative modules that connect you with students across different specialisms. I also appreciate how career-focused the courses are, offering industry insight, placements, and real-world experience.

As an international student, my experience has been very positive. The tutors are supportive and understanding, especially when it comes to unfamiliar terminology or local expressions. They always take the time to explain things clearly, which makes learning feel comfortable and inclusive.

I’ve enjoyed many performance opportunities, from weekly lunchtime concerts to events with partner organisations. Our partnership with Opera North has been a particular highlight, providing masterclasses, side-by-side chorus rehearsals and access to dress rehearsals. I’m also part of the Opera Society through the Students’ Union, where we watch an opera each week and prepare for an annual showcase.

Overall, Leeds Conservatoire provides a welcoming, professional environment where I’ve grown as a musician, learned from industry experts, and accessed opportunities I wouldn’t find elsewhere. I’m grateful to be part of this community.
