Industrial and Systems Engineering
The Lamar University Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering has integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a fundamental technology taught to solve problems in robotics, quality control, reliability, safety, scheduling, warehousing, and supply chain management. Our department is committed to teaching the software skills to implement industrial engineering solutions. The department also teaches a wide-range of software skills including Python, JavaScript, SQL, PLC Programming with Rockwell RSLogix, R, JavaScript, and Autodesk Fusion 360 to implement the ideas presented in our coursework. Students are allowed to take courses outside the department in computer science, other engineering departments, and management information systems that also teach software skills including SAP and Primavera.
The department offers an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering. The department offers graduate degrees including a Master of Engineering (non-thesis), Master of Engineering Science (thesis), and a Doctor of Engineering degree. The department also has a graduate Master of Engineering Management degree that teaches both management and advanced technical skills to prepare students for the job market.
