It’s not often one discovers a home away from home. For Victoria Popoola, leaving Lagos for Manhattan took a big leap of faith, but K-State quickly proved her journey worth it. She built friendships through participating in student organisations, received strong support from faculty, and grew her skills through challenges within the classroom.

“Grad school is tough, but K-State gave me the support and friendships I needed to thrive,” she says. Popoola is set on a future PhD, keeping her options open between academia and industry.

Having graduated from K-State with a dual bachelor’s in economics and political science, Noah Enders began to pursue a career in research and real-world policy. He would go on to pursue an MA in Economics, where he met new people and overcame challenging courses. He even created a new method to measure “Quality of Life” for state projects. Today, he’s making a difference for all Kansans through working at the Kansas Legislative Division of Post Audit.

“My academic experiences at K-State opened my mind to new perspectives and paved the way for innovative approaches in public policy,” he says.
