BS Biological Systems Engineering (BSE)

This program merges engineering fundamentals with biological and chemical knowledge to tackle challenges in agriculture, food systems, and natural resources. Students can choose a focus in Biological, Environmental, or Machine Systems Engineering.

Upon completion, graduates go on to design sustainable solutions, like robots and sensors for food production, or develop new biological processes and materials. Career paths include pharmaceutical production, food processing, biomedical engineering, or off-road machinery design and testing. Additionally, a BSE degree has prepared many graduates to pursue further education in medical school, law school, and veterinary medicine. As the BSE program boasts a global alumni network, with graduates working in 46 states and 28 countries, graduates can access even more mentorship and professional opportunities.
