I picked BSE because it is a very flexible engineering major that focuses on a lot of biology and science. I loved how seamlessly this degree combined all my interests with biomanufacturing, the engineering behind the mass production of antibodies and other protein compounds, and general engineering concepts. 

Much of my learning has been done in a way that brings real-world issues into the classroom so we know why what we are learning matters. For example, I recently did research for a project that covered the implications of world economics and how that affects the vaccine and biotherapeutics industries. That research helped put into perspective the jobs I will be working at in the future and why that work matters.
