"I enjoyed the 200 and 400-level swine classes. I also worked at one of the Iowa State swine barns for several years and had a great time. It taught me everything I needed to know about swine. Before I came here, I had absolutely zero animal experience, so almost everything I learned related to animal husbandry, animal caretaking, and anything medicinal-related I learned while at Iowa State.
One thing I enjoyed about the Animal Science major was the welcoming community. I came to Iowa State with little to no animal experience. I took an Animal Science course on a whim, and I fell in love with it. The professors here do a good job of helping you learn the materials, and you pretty much live and breathe the material. We are all such a close-knit community.
I started here without experience, and now I’m going to Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Iowa State sets you up for success and makes it so simple for you to start your animal science career.”
