Having been in Hong Kong for seven years, Santiago Cruz is a testament to MUBA’s world-class educators who introduce global perspectives to students in their educational journey. Hailing from Guatemala, Cruz finds the school’s diversity sets it apart from other institutions that he has previously taught in. It is what has fascinated him and led him to join the faculty.
“Diversity in the teaching team brings a positive experience to students as it could challenge their boundaries or set of values, thus expanding their horizons,” says Cruz. His role as a Spanish language teacher for the Global Immersion Programme bridges gaps in students’ openness to understanding a foreign culture — a crucial trait required to conduct international business.
“Learning a foreign language gives our students the ability to grasp different perspectives and values, so they can see through new eyes in a world which seemingly looks more interconnected every day,” he says.
