This is equally true for her undergraduate journey at MUBA, where Zhang appreciated the many options available to her. “What I love most about MUBA is its diverse range of opportunities provided to students, such as internships, mentorship from industry professionals, networking events, training workshops, business competitions, exchange trips and more. All these have given me valuable insights into how the real business world works,” she adds. With the support from MUBA, Zhang has secured two internships over the past two years. She also won championship in the BDO Best Intern Scholarship Contest in 2022, earning a scholarship of 10,000 Hong Kong dollars, a job shadowing opportunity and a return offer of employment at an accounting firm upon her graduation.

The lure of Hong Kong’s cosmopolitanism was too good to resist for accounting major Isabella Zhang Yiwen. She knew that studying in the city would present a one-of-a-kind exposure to the wider world.

“It’s such a fun, dynamic and vibrant city where people from around the world come to live, work, and study,” she says. “Its unique East-meets-West culture and heritage are what make it attractive and there’s always something to do 24/7.”
