Roni Rinne

“The core course ’Managing People and Organizations’ has been quite rewarding yet challenging since it forces us to think differently instead of just focusing on the theoretical aspect of a business. I also enjoy the elective course ‘Business Negotiation’ in the current semester, whether we want it or not, everything in life is about negotiation!”

Three months away from graduating, Roni is certain he will re-enter the workforce with international opportunities in hand. He is currently on one-year student leave from a Finnish company and thinking about whether to go back or pursue a global career in Asia. However, he is excited about the fact that the Hong Kong Government allows international graduates to remain in the country for two years to secure full-time employment.

Despite his thriving career in B2B sales, Roni never let himself get too comfortable. Pursuing an education abroad was still on his bucket list, and he saw it as the perfect opportunity to satisfy his curiosity about the global business landscape. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs, it’s easy to understand how he caught wind of HKBU’s Master of Science (MSc) in Business Management (MScBM).

The fact that the package comprised scholarship opportunities, a capstone project and a study abroad experience made it an obvious choice. His decision proved fruitful. “I like how practical most of the courses and group projects are here,” he says.
