Prepare for life at Orange County’s Best Private School

Fairmont Schools has been named Orange County’s “Best Private School” for 11 consecutive years — and not just for academic excellence.

From preschool to high school, this is where students find their voice, discover their strengths, and push the boundaries of what they think is possible. With five campuses across Southern California, each one offers a rich, immersive environment where learning goes far beyond the textbook.

At Anaheim Hills, young learners are introduced to music through specialist-led string programmes — building focus, discipline, and creativity from day one. Just a short drive away, the Historic Anaheim campus — a fully accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) World School — cultivates global thinkers through a rigorous curriculum and a culture of inquiry and empathy.

In North Tustin, innovation comes alive in a cutting-edge, 1,000-square-foot STEAM lab, where students design, prototype, and test real-world solutions using industry-grade tools like 3D printers and laser cutters. Meanwhile, in the hills of San Juan Capistrano, the Fairmont Athletic Academy trains student-athletes to excel in sport and in life — combining physical development with leadership and resilience.

Across every campus, one mission unites the Fairmont community: Preparing future-ready learners who lead with heart, think with clarity, and act with purpose.

Fairmont Prep

With a legacy dating back to 1953, Fairmont Prep is experienced in preparing students for success in college and beyond.

Learners come from around the world for this reputation, but they stay for something even greater — a learning environment where every journey is uniquely supported, and where connection, curiosity, and character are central to growth.

Beyond the classroom, students lead, create, and connect across more than clubs, championship athletics, and a wide range of extracurriculars that bring campus life to life.

By graduation, they’re globally aware, emotionally intelligent, and ready to thrive in whatever future they choose — from the labs of MIT to the studios of NYU, or the boardrooms of tomorrow’s leading companies.

“I have been attending Fairmont since third grade, and I am graduating from there this year. Although I look forward to graduating, I am sad to leave the school that has been my second home for the past 10 years.”

Where ambition becomes action

Each year, Fairmont Prep students rise to the challenge, pushing boundaries in the classroom, leading with heart, and building a legacy of excellence. But the Class of 2025 has taken that legacy to a whole new level.

This year’s graduates shattered expectations. Their college acceptances read like a who’s who of elite global institutions: Harvard. Stanford. Yale. Caltech. Duke. Johns Hopkins. Northwestern. Each one ranked among the top 10 national universities by US News & World Report.

But it’s not just where they got in — it’s how they stood out.

4x the national acceptance rate at Johns Hopkins

3x the national rate at Harvard and Harvey Mudd

2x the national rate at Yale, Duke, UC Berkeley, and WashU

Director of Counselling

“These numbers continue to paint a picture of the overall strength of Fairmont students and the value of a Fairmont education. Of course, students choose where to apply, and there are no guarantees, but this is a testament to what is possible when a community of students, families, teachers, coaches, counsellors, and others come together to create an experience that prepares students for college and beyond.”

Bonjour. Hello. 你好.

In the new kindergarten, children get to explore the world of languages, diving into French, English, and Mandarin. As they pick up new words and phrases, they grow more curious about how language works and start to see the world’s cultural diversity in a whole new light.

The Kindergarten prioritises sensorial, experiential learning as a means for children to understand abstract concepts. Educators help children learn how to think, not just what to think.

Built with care for children and the planet

IFS Kindergarten was built with the future in mind. Complementing the villa concept are eco-friendly features that reflect the school’s care for the planet.

"By prioritising sustainability, we are not only teaching children about the importance of protecting the planet but also providing them with a learning space that reflects our values of innovation, care for the environment, and responsibility for future generations."

Mr. Olive

IFS Kindergarten is certified by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
From the classrooms to the common areas, every part of the kindergarten runs on solar energy. This gives your child a safe, green place to learn and grow, teaching them to care for the environment and think about a cleaner, brighter future.
Thanks to low-emissivity (Low-E) double-glazed windows, classrooms stay cool even on the hottest days. These windows block external heat and UV rays from the sun while letting in plenty of natural light, creating a bright and comfortable learning environment for the children.
ALC walls act as a natural temperature regulator within the kindergarten. They keep indoor spaces cool during the day and warm during cooler periods, reducing reliance on air conditioning.
The kindergarten’s air-conditioning system adjusts cooling levels in real time by sensing how many people are present and reacting to changes in weather and humidity. This saves energy and helps the system work better for longer.
Even the airflow is thoughtfully designed. High-efficiency ceiling fans help keep the air cool and fresh in every corner of the classroom.
A multi-use rainwater harvesting system reduces reliance on drinking water, nourishes green spaces, and eases pressure on the local drainage system. It’s a smart way to care for nature and use water wisely.

Where children lead and learning follows

IFS Kindergarten puts children first — always. Here, every child is encouraged to follow their curiosity, express their creativity, and make their own choices through activities like art, music, stories, and play.

Your child will grow to be:

By honouring each child’s unique developmental pace, the school creates a safe and nurturing space where children feel valued and understood. As a result, they are more inclined to take risks, build confidence, and grow both academically and personally.

Emotionally secure

Through collaborative play and group activities, children learn to communicate, work as a team, and develop empathy and mutual respect. These everyday moments help them navigate relationships, understand different perspectives, and learn how to resolve conflicts with care.

Socially developed

By cultivating curiosity and a love for learning from the very beginning, IFS Kindergarten lays the groundwork for lifelong discovery. Children are empowered to explore beyond the classroom, building habits of enquiry and imagination that will guide them throughout their academic journey and into a bright, adaptable future.

Committed to lifelong learning

Hear from the students

“IFS's emphasis on academic support, excellence, and pastoral care has positively impacted my educational journey as it has motivated me to push my limits when it comes to academics, always reaching for better. Looking back, I feel adequately prepared to confront challenges in university and beyond. IFS has helped me build my work ethic through the various subjects and the relentless effort I've had to put in. It has also underlined the importance of rest whenever necessary through the supportive network of teachers and counsellors.”

Daria Gutlin, Grade 12

“IFS offered a plethora of extracurricular opportunities that shaped my personal growth. I represented the school in international and national sports competitions, including cross-country championships in Paris and Reims, as well as the Jeux Internationaux de la Jeunesse in Lebanon. I also contributed as a web reporter, covering events like SIMUN and the school's 50th anniversary, and actively participated in clubs like Maths en Jeans and student governance bodies such as CVL. These activities not only enriched my experience but also bolstered my university applications.”

Louis Domart, IFS alumni

Counselling that starts early and stays personal

At Fairmont Preparatory Academy, college counselling begins long before applications are due. Starting as early as Grade 8, students begin working one-on-one with experienced academic and college counsellors who help them chart a thoughtful, personalised path forward.

Together, they build a four-year plan that meets graduation requirements and positions them for long-term success. Counsellors guide students through academic choices, extracurricular involvement, and standardised testing preparation, ensuring every step is intentional and aligned with future goals.

The difference lies in the access and attention students receive. With a student-to-counsellor ratio of just 85:1 — compared to the California state average of 527:1 — Fairmont students benefit from meaningful relationships with experts who truly get to know them. Forget brief check-ins –– these are multi-year partnerships built on trust, insight, and shared vision.

“When I meet with a student, I’m really trying to get an understanding of who this person is and what makes them tick,” said Justin Voss, Director of College Counselling. “This process is very intentional and relational.”

Built-in rigour, balanced with wellness

Every student at Fairmont Prep is held to high standards — and supported every step of the way. From the start, counsellors walk students through graduation requirements, which meet and often exceed those set by the University of California system.

As Ms. Weems, one of Fairmont’s counsellors, explains: “The fact that our graduates will have completed coursework that is admissible for UC gives Fairmont students a leg up.”

And since a Fairmont education is all about balance, counsellors work with students to craft a plan that challenges them while protecting time for rest, reflection, and personal well-being. They’re visible on campus, accessible during breaks and lunch, and maintain an open-door policy that encourages students to reach out — whether for academic advice or simply a moment to talk.

Hear from the students

“Fairmont Schools are always a grade level ahead of public schools, and even more advanced now because of the effects on schools from the pandemic. Fairmont was able to adapt and provide in-person learning without incident. As a parent, I strongly recommend Fairmont .”

Sharon. S
Historic Anaheim Parent

“We are so glad that our daughter is getting her education from this prestigious institution. The school provides well-rounded academic and intellectual growth for your kid. The after-school programmes are a plus. The class sizes are just perfect, where they can provide one-on-one attention to your child.”
