Master of Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning)

The Master of Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning) programme was designed to advance the careers of sports science or related graduates. While topical subjects like Research and Computer Methods, Applied Biomechanics, Advanced Resistance Training and Physiological Tests for Elite Athletes, amongst others, are conducted online, the programme also includes a two-week intensive practicum that is undertaken at ECU’s world-class sports science facilities, housed on its Joondalup Campus, around 30 minutes north of Perth Central Business District.

“This unique practicum experience provides students with an irreplaceable opportunity to engage with world-class academics, researchers, and coaches,” explains Professor Greg Haff. Each year, ECU engages professional coaches who specialise in a range of professional and Olympic sports to strategise practical activities and provide up-to-date insights to students. Such exposure helps students develop a better understanding of the industry while enhancing their professional development.

The fact that this qualification is recognised by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) in the United States and the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association (ASCA) in Australia, further solidifies it as a premier choice for professionals seeking to gain a competitive edge in an expanding industry.
